omg, I've been spending days studying pathology alone and by now my brain is already congested when I still have half of the core topics to be covered in, less than two days~! At this moment, how wonderful will it be if I have photographic memory.. *sigh*
*this is me taking a break from facing pathology textbook and notes*
I'm currently doing a medical rotation at Bons under Dr. Kenny, a cardiologist. I almost excitedly jump when I was told that I'll be attached to a cardiologist, I've been waiting for it for agessss, since I'm planning to specialize in cardiology and so far I've always got G.I and colorectal patients (and yes, I'd prefer to observe the magnificent structure of the heart than the butts, not that I'm 'organ-bias'..... ok maybe a bit)
Anyways, Dr Kenny is a very good consultant, I can honestly say that this is the first time ever I actually learn something from the attached consultant since we started our first rotation in third year, and I've learned A LOT from him. He's very dedicated and willing to teach everything that is within his specialty. Because of that, I'll keep an eye-closed for the fact that he's a bit strange, like how he brought us up and down the stairs across several wards from one end of the hospital to another, not seeing any patients/nurses or doing anything other than teaching us the different types and causes of murmurs, different rhythms and characteristics of pulse, etc etc, while walking by his sides. And he doesn't make eye contacts while speaking too. But he's really nice and he even recognized us (me and my partner who're attached to him) while we're in a group of students.
and oh, usually the cardio patients are very old kan, like above 60 camtu, last week I met this one guy aged 35 who has atrial fibrillation, not only he's young, he's so cute too! haha. seronok je take history from him, but only sampai part social hx, he said he's living with his gf, *gloomy kejap* heee.. then when I was checking for his pulse rate, he suddenly said "that's a nice watch you have", so mcm tersipu2 jap ckp thanks sambil terus terlupa dah berapa kiraan pulse rate dia, haha.
I'm really enjoying my rotation at this hospital *smile*
Not only because we get to pay half-price for the meal, its multi-factorial really, from the nice patients to nice nurses and this time, an excellent consultant.
and I just realized that I need to do something about my hearing problem if I want to specialize in cardiology, since I'm having problem trying to detect the heart murmurs.
ok, it's 12.07 midnite now, lets continue with pathology. yoshhh!
